DOLE-DOLE

Dole-dole is one of traditional ceremonies for the children in Buton. This ceremony usually for the children with the age between 1-3 years old , because on this age the children which believed still sickly with the epidemic like cabies. This is relevant with the purpose of this ceremony is to pushing or recovering the baby or children from the epidemic or disease. In this ceremony, we must be prepared many traditional equipment for example Buton traditional costume, saroong, oil and some foods like red rice, white rice, 2 big fish, boiled eggs, boiled bananas, and some traditional cakes like "bolu", "baruasa", "waje", "onde-onde", "dadar", fried bananas, fried sweet potatoes, etc. The processing of this ceremony is the children who their dress has opened, than she/he is rolled in above of bananas leaf which has greased with oil and than bated with smoke from "dupa" with read some verses by the old woman who called "ina-ina/bhisa". After that, the children hand over to their parents. This ceremony always going on fluent with little crying from the baby. Now this ceremony become one of culture in Buton.
